The Grade 7 Health and Physical Education textbook unambiguously states the following:
Science-based education is essential to dispel such myths. This includes a comprehensive approach to discussions around overall health and hygiene. “I was afraid to take a bath, no matter how much I sweated when I had my period, I never took a bath! I was afraid that something might happen, that I would get sick. After learning the truth, I lost this fear. Now, I take a bath every day, and because of the [menstrual] cup, I can even jump into the [Bathalagoda] lake without being afraid of getting sick!” – Mindful Menstruation participant
