Menopause – When Menstruation Ends

After many years of regular menstrual cycles, there comes a time when menstruation stops. This is called menopause.

Most women reach menopause around the age of 50. Others may reach menopause a few years earlier. Hormonal changes occur a year or two before menopause. This period is called perimenopause.

Menopause is considered to have occurred after a full year without menstruation

Symptoms of menopause include:

Periodic hot flashes and sweating, rapid heartbeat

Menstrual changes (heavy or scanty bleeding, irregular bleeding)

Joint and limb pain

Mental Health Related Issues & Remedies

Difficulty sleeping

Apathy and discomfort during sexual intercourse

In addition to these, itching during menstruation, urinary incontinence, frequent urination, and urinary tract infections can occur during this period.
