How to maintain health and hygiene during menstruation?

Maintaining proper hygiene during menstruation is very important for our physical and emotional well-being. There are many misconceptions in society about how to maintain hygiene during menstruation. One of the main ones is that bathing is not advisable during this time. This is not scientifically proven. Although it is advisable to avoid bathing during illnesses such as fever and cold, you should not stop washing or bathing just because of your period.

Personal hygiene: It is very important to stay clean during menstruation. Do not give up normal habits such as wearing clean underwear and bathing, combing your hair, and brushing your teeth during menstruation.

If you use a pad or a homemade cloth to absorb your menstrual blood, change it at least every 6 hours. If you use a menstrual cup, remove it every 8 hours, wash it, and put it back on. Don’t forget to wash your hands thoroughly when changing them. Gently cleanse and moisturize the vaginal area as well.
